It’s that time of year again, Apple has unveiled its iPhones for 2018. And we have three to choose from: the iPhone XS, XS Max, and the XR. However, if you’re looking for a model of the iPhone X, you’ll have to look somewhere else – Apple will no longer sell the iPhone 6S, 6S plus, iPhone SE, and the iPhone X.

Before buying any new phone, it’s important to think about what screen size is best for you, and how much storage do you need? And if you should buy a new model or save money by selecting an older model.

Today, we’re going to discuss price, specs, and features, to help you feel more confident about what iPhone is best for you. Here’s what you need to know about the new iPhone lineup.

iPhone XS

The iPhone XS looks identical to last year’s iPhone X – as stated above Apple has made the choice to discontinue the iPhone X, so if you were going to consider an iPhone X, the XS will probably be the next best thing. The feel of the XS has the same premium look with its stainless steel and glass casing, and better yet, if you’re a fan of gold – it comes in that color, which the iPhone X did not.

Here are some quick specs to consider:

  1. 8-inch Super Retina with OLED HD Screen
  2. Colors: Gold, Space Grey, and Silver
  3. Front-facing cameras: 7-megapixel camera and duel camera: 12-megapixel wide and telephoto lenses
  4. 7-nanometer processing, which promises to launch apps 30 percent faster than 2017 models
  5. Storage options: 64 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB
  6. Battery life: 30 minutes longer than iPhone X
  7. IP68 water-resistance rating

Some of the features for the iPhone XS include:

  1. Facial recognition to faster unlock phone
  2. 3D touch pressure-sensitive screen
  3. Wireless charging (works with Qi Chargers) – sold separately
  4. A new GPU for better handling of Augmented Reality
  5. iOS 12 software

The XS model starts at $999 for 64 GB. However, there’s lot of great deals on the XS right now.

Verizon Wireless is offering their “best iPhone launch offer ever.” Upgrade to a XS and get $100 off your purchase, or get $300 off when adding a new line. A trade-in is required for both of these deals.

T-Mobile is offering up to $390 off the iPhone XS via bill credits with an eligible trade-in.

AT&T is offering a “Buy One, Get One” promotions via monthly bill credits totaling $700 when you finance both devices on AT&T’s Next program and add a line.

Sprint is offering a trade-in deal, where customers can trade in an eligible device can get a 64 GB iPhone XS for $20.83 a month on its Sprint Flex 18-month lease. It comes in the form of bill credits and is only good for 64 GB option.

With every tech device come a few critics, with the iPhone XS the biggest issue is how expensive it is for what you get, and the fast charging requires you to buy additional accessories (but that’s no surprise after Apple removed the headphone jack).

XS Max

Now, let’s talk about the iPhone XS Max. This is the most expensive out of the three, however, it’s also the largest iPhone ever made at 6.5in. Another feature that make the XS Max stand out is the battery life is said to last 90 minutes longer than the iPhone X, though the cameras are the same as the XS.

Here are some other specs to check out:

A few online reviews suggest that the iPhone XS Max doesn’t have too many changes than the iPhone X and most customers miss the fingerprint sensor, known as TouchID.

XR

The more affordable option is the iPhone XR. It takes the same design of the iPhone X – although some customers were hoping the XR version would take the same design as the now discontinued iPhone SE. The screen is LCD rather than the OLED on the XS and XS Max, although most reviews say there’s not much of a difference.
